Process & Decision-Making
Was this decision predetermined?
No. This came from a process of prayer, discernment, and careful review over time.
Did the Archdiocese make this decision?
No. The recommendation was developed at the parish level. Father will bring it forward to the Archdiocese as part of the process.
Who made this decision?
The Multi-Site Review Team has been working with Father to evaluate options and make a recommendation.
Can this decision be changed?
This recommendation of the committee has been brought forward after careful discernment. The purpose of tonight is to share that recommendation, explain the rationale, and hear your questions.
Financial & Sustainability
Why is this necessary?
We are seeing lower attendance than in the past, offertory has not kept pace, and costs continue to rise. Operating across two sites is not sustainable long-term.
Is the parish in financial trouble?
The parish has been able to rely on reserves, but that is not a long-term solution.
Is Queen of the Rosary School driving this decision?
No. QR School is not part of the Multi-Site Review process and is evaluated separately from the parish.
Facilities & Property
Why St. Julian Eymard?
St. Julian Eymard is smaller, and limits our ability to gather as one parish, especially for major liturgies and events.
Have we already sold St. Julian Eymard?
No. No decisions have been made about the sale of the property.
What will happen to St. Julian Eymard?
We will work with the Archdiocese to determine next steps for relegation, always with respect for the history and significance of the church.
Will there be another parish on the St. Julian campus someday?
There are no plans for that by Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish or the Archdiocese to establish another church on the St. Julian property. Any future decisions will be made in collaboration with the Archdiocese and we will share information as it becomes available.
Timeline & What Happens Next
Why now?
This reflects where we are today as a parish—attendance, participation, and long-term sustainability—and our desire to strengthen the parish for the future.
How quickly will this happen?
The current plan is to continue operating through early January 2027.
Will there be new investments into the Queen of the Rosary campus?
Select investments will be required and are to be evaluated by the Transition team.
Parish Life & Operations
Where will the parish office be located?
Parish offices will continue to be located at SJE. We will explore options, including parish and school spaces, once the property is sold.
Where will ministries meet?
We are working to ensure ministries continue without interruption, using available spaces creatively during the transition. See above.
What will happen to sacred items and statues?
We will take great care in discerning how to preserve and appropriately place sacred items, with respect for their meaning and importance.
Will Mass schedules or times for devotions change?
Mass schedules will be part of future planning and will be communicated clearly as decisions are made.
