Marriage Ministry

OLBS Marriage Ministry invites couples to experience the truly faith-deepening conversion and awakening to the beauty, goodness and truth about marriage, family life and the Catholic faith.

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” 1 John 4:16

Mission

OLBS Marriage Ministry seeks to stir a desire in the hearts of married couples to grow in relationship with Christ and with each other. Helping couples grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and with each other promotes a stronger, healthier church.

Vision

Provide prayer, activities, training and tools that help couples build into their marriage.

Time & Talent

Couples in various stages of marriage, including:

Marriage Preparation. Educating newly-engaged couples on God’s purposes for marriage and how to build a solid foundation. Equipping widows, widowers and those who have been married before to deal with blended families that may result from marriage.

Newlyweds. Helping couples who have been married less than five years adjust to the changes and adjustments married life brings about. Assist widows, widowers and the previously married with the unique challenges of blended family life.

Enriching All Marriages. Lead all married couples in the parish to intentionally and consistently build into their marriages for healthy and successful relationships with Jesus Christ and with each other.

Troubled Marriages. Marriage is about facing life’s ups and downs together, and most marriages bend, but some break. When we help lead couples experiencing tough times to Christ, often He will help them find their way to back to each other.
