Thank You, Fr. Dan!
Five years ago, at the height of the pandemic, we welcomed a new chapter with a new shepherd, just as our churches were reopening and we were learning how to gather again. What a time to arrive! Yet, from day one, Fr. Dan met us with calm, compassion and confidence in Christ. Through the many milestones that followed—parish unification, the global Synod, the National Eucharistic Revival and the 10th National Eucharistic Congress—Fr. Dan’s steady leadership and pastoral heart has helped us grow stronger as a faith community.
During a time marked by uncertainty both in the Church and in the world—including the passing of Pope Benedict XVI and Poper Francis, , two U.S. elections and ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the Holy Land—Fr. Dan has reminded us again and again what it means to trust in God’s love. He has been a reassuring presence, a voice of peace and above all, a reflection of the loving face of Christ to all who have walked through Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish’s doors.
As he begins a new chapter in ministry, we send him forth with grateful hearts. We will miss you, Fr. Dan, but we know it’s not goodbye—it’s see you later. Your new parish, Divine Mercy in Winnetka, is blessed to receive you, just as we were. May God continue to guide you and bless you in all that lies ahead.
