Youth Ministry

The AfterMass Youth Ministry bridges the gap between School of Religion and Adult Ministry to help connect our teens to their faith.

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” —Timothy 4:12

Mission Statement

The OLBS Youth Ministry, AfterMass, believes that even the smallest things can make the biggest difference. We strive to provide opportunity to encounter Jesus through service; service to others, service to our parish and service to our community.

Vision

Connect OLBS teens to their faith by providing opportunities for service and social interaction. All is done with a joyful heart! Click here to have a look.

Time & Talent

All teens aged 13-19 are welcome to join the AfterMass Youth Group. Watch our calendar or follow us on Facebook for upcoming meetings (generally the 3rd Sunday of each month) and events. Stop by any time—drop-ins always welcome!

Prayer & Worship

Not only are our teens encouraged to help serve at Mass both individually and as part of the AfterMass Youth Group, but there is prayer and reflection built into many of our meetings and events.

Take the Teen Lenten Challenge to help make this Lenten season more personal and meaningful!

CHWC is a Summer Mission Trip open to teens entering 9th grade or older who are willing to serve others and explore their Catholic identity. You will “work hard, serve tirelessly, think deeply, celebrate Mass and build relationships.” Spots at CHWC are limited. In order to secure a spot, teens are required to:

  • Pay a deposit (deposit subject to change and will be announced after Mission Trips are booked)

  • Volunteer at all of the Fundraiser events leading up to the trip (generally 2 Pancake Breakfasts and a Pasta Dinner for the parish)

  • Participate in a “Thank You to the Parish” weekend following CHWC

  • Teens are highly encouraged to write a short recap of their CHWC experience which, with permission, may be shared on our Website, Social Media or in the parish Bulletin
