Catholic Schools Week

Where Faith and Learning Feel Like Home

PAWS UP! Catholic Schools Week is a celebration of the incredible gift right here in our parish: Queen of the Rosary School, Elk Grove Village’s only Catholic school and a ministry with 65+ years of proud history. This week we highlight how our Queen of the Rosary School forms children to become future leaders—future saints—growing in faith, knowledge, and service every single day.

For generations, our parish has been blessed by a school that stands at the heart of our mission. While our neighboring public schools are truly outstanding, Catholic education offers something they simply cannot: a daily encounter with Jesus Christ and a community grounded in Gospel values. At Queen of the Rosary School, we educate the whole child—spirit, mind, and body—in a place where every student is loved, supported, and known by name.

Queen of the Rosary School. A Legacy Worth Celebrating.

From the very beginning, Queen of the Rosary School has been a landmark in Elk Grove Village—forming children who make our parish and our village a better place.

  • One of the original three schools—and only Catholic school—in the village
  • Serving families faithfully for more than six decades
  • The largest ministry of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish
  • Educating children from Preschool through 8th Grade
  • A proven tradition of raising confident, compassionate young people

  • Weekly School Mass and Daily Faith Formation that shapes character and purpose
  • Programs that develop the entire child

PreSchool-to-Kindergarten FAQs

Children who continue from our Preschool into Kindergarten transition smoothly because:

  • They already know the building, routines, and many classmates
  • They feel confident and secure in a familiar environment
  • Priests, teachers, and staff know them personally and spiritually
  • Faith formation continues naturally
  • Academic expectations build on what they’ve already learned

Staying with the Cougars means your child grows without interruption in a place where faith and learning feel like home.

Kindergarten adds structure and challenge while keeping the warmth of early childhood:

  • Daily prayer and weekly school Mass
  • Reading and math readiness that grows into mastery
  • Social skills formed through Christian values
  • Enrichment classes: Spanish, music, art, robotics, athletics, and more
  • Service projects that teach generosity
  • Upperclass Buddy Program

Your child doesn’t start over—they start ahead!

Absolutely. Our neighboring public schools are stellar, and we’re proud to complement them. What makes Catholic education unique is that we combine:

  • Top-notch curriculum
  • Small class sizes
  • High expectations
  • Proven outcomes
  • AND the faith component that shapes character

We educate the entire student: spirit, mind, and body.

Many students remain together in Kindergarten and beyond, allowing friendships to deepen. New Cougar families join each year as well—so the community grows while staying close-knit.

Yes, Kindergarten is five full days, from 7:45am to 2:30pm with optional Extended Care available to all students before and after school.

Yes! Families can rely on a safe, convenient program that matches parish life and lends a hand for working parents.

Yes. We encourage families not to self-select out based on cost. A Catholic education may be more accessible than you think. Through the generous support of parishioners, fundraising efforts, and strong stewardship, we work hard to keep tuition affordable and to offer assistance to qualifying families. We invite you to contact the school office (847) 437-3322 to explore available opportunities and have a confidential conversation about how we can help make faith and learning feel like home for your family.

Our proactive approach—like managing cell phones and digital balance—creates a focused learning environment from the earliest grades.

We recognize the incredible value of family and the special bond between grandparents and grandchildren. Grandparents are treasured members of our Cougar community and are warmly invited to be involved in many ways—by attending school Masses and special events, volunteering in classrooms or at activities, supporting tuition assistance through prayer or giving, and sharing the story of Catholic education with their families and friends. Your presence, encouragement, and faith-filled witness help our students feel loved, rooted, and supported as they grow in spirit, mind, and body.

More than Education. Enrichment for the spirit, mind, and body.

Even the most robust public education can’t match what makes Catholic education unique—together, we are raising saints!

  • Daily prayer and regular celebration of the Sacraments
  • Spanish language instruction
  • Music and choir opportunities
  • Athletics that build discipline and teamwork
  • Robotics Club and competition
  • Art, technology, and more
  • Service opportunities that form compassionate hearts
  • Partnering with parents as the primary educators of your children
