Annual Catholic Appeal

Please Make Your Gift to the 2023 Annual Catholic Appeal!

Walking on the Road with Jesus

Many families in our parish have received or will be receiving the Annual Catholic Appeal mailing from Cardinal Cupich. On behalf of those served by the ministries, parishes and schools who receive funding from the Appeal, we thank you for your gifts. Please return your response as soon as possible.

The Annual Catholic Appeal is an opportunity to bring together our efforts to support parish life, Catholic schools, programs of religious education, and various archdiocesan initiatives and outreach. We encourage giving at all levels to support the Appeal.

In addition to providing for ministries and services throughout the archdiocese, the Annual Catholic Appeal funds services in our own parish. For example, Appeal funds support Catechesis, Ministry of Care, Bereavement, Marriage & Family Ministry and more.

Our Annual Catholic Appeal goal this year is $61, 170, or roughly $4,000 more than last year. As you know, donations in excess of our goal are returned to the parish in the form of a rebate. Our custom as Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament has been to earmark the rebate for special projects. In 2021 we received a $21,000 rebate which, along with parishioner donations, funded the sound system upgrade at Queen of the Rosary and St. Julian. Building on the sound system upgrades, the 2022 rebate was earmarked for video and live-streaming upgrades. Now that the final installment of our $33,000 rebate has been received, work will soon begin to update our video and live-streaming capabilities at Queen of the Rosary and St. Julian. Continuing with this theme of modernizing technology, we would like to designate this year’s Appeal rebate to place electronic message boards in the vestibules of both worship sites. In addition, we hope to install video security at Queen of the Rosary, which will allow us to keep the church open for prayer and worship even when staff and clergy are not on site. At St. Julian, we hope to update the doors from the vestibule to the church with glass lites, which will keep those who step out into the vestibule connected to prayer and worship while still respecting our sacred space.

When we financially support the work of our parish, our archdiocese and the Catholic Church throughout the world, we experience a feeling of deep gratitude, especially when we contemplate God’s many gifts to us personally. By sharing our wealth through gifts to the 2023 Annual Catholic Appeal, we demonstrate our commitment to the Church and each other.

Thank you for your prayerful consideration and generous response. To make your gift, you can complete the mail-in giving envelope from the Cardinal’s mail or available at church, or make a gift online at annualcatholicappeal.com.
