’24 Morning of Service

As we embrace the spirit of giving and service during A Season for Life and begin another season of Summer Suppers, our Respect Life, Good Samaritan and Rosary Ministries extend a special invitation to participate in annual Spring collection drives. This year, our campaigns take on even greater significance as they coincide with the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage making its way to Indianapolis for this Summer’s National Eucharistic Congress.

At the end of June, the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage visits the Archdiocese of Chicago. As part of this Pilgrimage, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish will host site a Morning of Service on Saturday, June 29, 2024. We’ll come together with others across our community for Mass, Rosary Prayer, Adoration, Reconciliation and as our service project sort and pack donations from the collection drives. Let’s not miss this opportunity to demonstrate for our community what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ, helping those in need.

This year, in addition to collecting items for new moms and babies and essentials for the homeless, we’re also collecting handheld spiritual care items (see Wish List below). Our contributions will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need, spreading life, love and hope throughout our community.

How You Can Help:

  • Donate Items: Look for collection bins and wish lists in our vestibules and contribute items such as baby clothes, diapers, toiletries, non-perishable food items, socks, blankets and more. Your generosity will directly support individuals and families facing various challenges. Please note, like-new or gently-used items accepted unless otherwise note “Brand New.”
  • Contribute Spiritual Care Items: Help us provide spiritual comfort and support by donating rosaries, medals prayer cards, and other small, handheld prayer aids. These items can offer solace and strength to those in need of spiritual nourishment. Please bring religious and spiritual care items to the parish office.
  • Volunteer Your Time: Join us on Saturday, June 29th, for a community morning of service beginning with daily Mass at 8:15am in Queen of the Rosary Church (750 W. Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove Village, Illinois). Together, we’ll come together to sort and organize donations, assemble care packages, and spread joy and compassion throughout our community. A signup from the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage will be available closer to the Morning of Service.

Let’s join hands and hearts to make a difference during A Season for Life. Together, we can create culture of life, love and service in our community.
